Initiative for the introduction of standards for transliteration between Cyrillic and Latin alphabet and for a phonetic keyboard

The Mathematics and Informatics Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Science, jointly with the Bulgarian Language Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Science, undertake the initiative for:

Here we would like to present our opinion regarding the following questions:

1. Why should transliteration between the Cyrillic and Latin alphabet be standardised?
2. Should the phonetic keyboard layout turn into a state standard?
3. What are the problems related to the Cyrillic grave È?

In order to introduce a transliteration standard and to solve the above problems, a series of questions will have to be answered. Take part in the discussion by filling our questionnaire. In this way you will help the solving of the propounded problems.

A list of the people who have filled in the questionnaire.

You can also take part in the discussion by publishing an article in our forum. There you will find the Transliteration newspaper.

Finally, we are giving some offers for possible solutions to problems put forward, which could serve as a foundation for a further discussion.

1. Transliteration offer: for Bulgarian language and for Russian language.
2. Offer for the solving of problems connected with SMS: for Bulgarian language and for Russian language.
